I want you to concentrate your initial efforts on ‘word of mouth’ advertising.
Because the easiest and most effective way to start a ‘buzz’ about your new business is to simply start talking about it and telling everybody about it.
Every smart company knows that word of mouth is the most powerful advertising on earth which is why smart companies spend so much time courting the trend setters to build this coveted ‘buzz’.
But you don’t need to get a picture of Angelina Jolie with your product to build a ‘buzz’… there’s an easier way to do it.
All you need to do is ask your friends and family for a little help in getting the word out about your new business.
And while this might sound too easy, and not too glamorous, it turns
out that these ‘ho hum’ business techniques are always the most
effective.
**Warning – Avoid This pitfall!** Be careful that you tell people about your new business and tell them how excited you are about your new website but
don’t make them feel like you’re hitting them up for an order. If they like your products, they’ll buy them… but nobody likes to feel they were strong armed by friends or family.
But asking for help is NOT the same as asking for an order. Your friends and family will be more than happy to help you launch your new business, especially when they can feel your enthusiasm.
Think about how you would react if one of your friends asked you for help? You would be happy to help them right? And they’ll be happy to help you too.
So here’s what you do.
Step 1 – Send everyone in your address book an email telling them about your new business, the neat products, the story of how you got it (people love stories) and tell them what your URL (website address) is.
Step 2 – Ask them to help you out by having them Forward your email to all their friends and ask their friends to do the same.
You can see how fast this simple ‘word of mouth buzz’ will grow now right? If done right, it’s exponential.
Tip1: Don’t try to be sneaky or subtle abut asking for help. Remember that your true friends will expect you to be straight forward with them and doing it any other way does nothing but send a loud and clear message that you’re really not considering them a true friend. Make sense.
Tip 2: These are your friends… don’t send them an email that sounds like a sales letter. Pretend they’re standing next to you at a family birthday party and you’re just talking to them. This email should sound just like every other email you send them.
If you normally call them a 4 letter word as a nick name… don’t stop now.
So go ahead and ask for a little help from your friends and you’ll be amazed at how far this buzz will travel. I wouldn’t be surprised if good things didn’t happen for you almost immediately.
To your success.
